First Time Home Buyers Workshop

This is a 6-hour block of instruction delivered by our certified staff to train individuals in the home-buying process. This course is a requirement to participate in the Down Payment Assistance program through CinA. The course is designed to teach students key steps in the home-buying process. The info in this course can quite literally save them years in the home buying process and 10’s of thousands of dollars in interest rates. It is offered in English and Spanish in one 6-hour session.

This is a 6-hour block of instruction delivered by our certified staff to train individuals on the basics of the renter-landlord relationship. It is for people with limited rental history and/or poor rental history. It is also offered in Spanish and English; it is offered in two 3-hour sessions.

Financial Literacy

Aug 14th and 15th 1pm – 5pm

Oct 18th and 19th 1pm – 5pm
Nov 13th and 14th 1pm – 5pm

This is an 8-hour block of instruction delivered by our certified staff to train individuals on the basics of understanding all things finance. Topics covered include budgeting, deductions, taxes, insurance, banking, credit, loans, debt, assets, and more. This class is offered in Spanish and English in two 4-hour sessions and meets the financial training requirement for our VIDA grant.

POST PURCHASE

This is a 6-hour block of instruction delivered by our certified staff to train individuals in the basics of the financial aftermath of buying a home as well as strategies to avoid foreclosure in times of difficulty. Topics include financial goals, debt repayment strategies, refinancing, good financial habits, the foreclosure process, loan modification, loss mitigation options, home safety, energy efficiency, and more. This class is offered in Spanish and English in one 6-hour session.
