Veterans Down Payment Assistance
Community in Action is seeking individuals who are interested in purchasing a home, but lack the initial down payment to secure a mortgage. We work closely with local realtors and lenders to help potential homebuyers to meet the program criteria. Those who are eligible will participate in monthly housing counseling, homebuyer education and financial literacy education.
To qualify for Down Payment Assistance:
- Malheur or Harney County resident
- First time homebuyer
- Home purchase in Malheur or Harney County
- Annual income not to exceed:
- 1 Person: $57,000
- 2 Persons: $65,200
- 3 Persons: $73,300
- 4 Persons: $81,400
- 5 Persons: $88,000
- 6 Persons: $101,000
- 7 Persons: $107,500
- Complete 6 hours Pre-Purchase Education
- Complete 6 Hours of Financial Literacy Education
- Willingness to Participate in Pre and Post-Purchase Housing Counseling Appointments
Grant funds will be paid directly to the title company and must not exceed 20% of the purchase price.
